A man caught in the middle of two simultaneous robberies at a bank desperately tries to protect the teller with whom he's secretly in love.
Flypaper is a moderately clever crime-comedy with a reasonably inventive conceit — two separate bank robbery crews operating simultaneously — that keeps the plot spinning with decent energy. The ensemble cast, including Patrick Dempsey and Ashley Judd, delivers competent if unremarkable performances that serve the comedic tone. Cinematography is straightforward and functional, offering nothing visually distinctive for the genre. The novelty lies mostly in the dual-heist setup and the whodunit layer embedded within the comedy, which gives it a slightly fresher feel than standard heist fare, though it never fully commits to being truly original.
