A lawyer takes on a new client that wants to sue a dating website because it guarantees love.
Love, Guaranteed is a pleasant but formulaic Netflix rom-com. The premise of suing a dating site for failing to guarantee love is a cute hook that gives it a slight edge in novelty, but the plot follows the genre playbook almost beat for beat with few surprises. The leads (Rachael Leigh Cook and Damon Wayans Jr.) have agreeable chemistry and deliver competent, likable performances, but the material doesn't challenge them. Cinematography is flat and functional, typical of Netflix mid-tier productions with little visual ambition. The ending is predictable and rushed, tying everything up in a too-neat bow without earning its emotional payoff. A comfortable, watchable rom-com that doesn't distinguish itself beyond its mildly clever legal conceit.
