The Quartile Take

Rich in Love is a competent and enjoyable Brazilian romantic comedy that follows a fairly familiar rich-man-pretends-to-be-poor premise seen in countless other films. The performances are charming and the chemistry between leads is warm, keeping the film engaging, but the plot leans heavily on well-worn romantic comedy tropes with few surprises. Cinematography is serviceable and bright but unremarkable. The ending resolves predictably as expected from the genre. Novelty is the clear weak point — the premise is a well-traveled road in rom-coms, offering little that feels distinctive or singular despite its Brazilian setting adding some local flavor.
