Freaks - You're One of Us is a German superhero drama that takes a working-class, grounded approach to the genre, which lends it some novelty. However, the plot feels underdeveloped and struggles to fully explore its promising premise, with a thin narrative that doesn't build sufficient tension or depth. The acting is serviceable with a committed lead performance from Cornelia Gröschel, but supporting characters are thinly written. Cinematography is functional but unremarkable, lacking visual flair.
