Susana leaves her life in Paris, where she works as a model, and returns to Madrid to take care of her grandmother Pilar.
Paco Plaza's slow-burn Spanish horror offers striking visual composition and a suffocating atmosphere rooted in Madrid's claustrophobic apartment spaces, making the cinematography a genuine standout. The premise—a young model sacrificing her Parisian life to nurse an increasingly unsettling grandmother—has modest intrigue, and the acting is serviceable if uneven. However, the narrative threads don't fully cohere, and the ending feels abrupt and undercooked, leaving the film's horror logic unresolved in ways that frustrate rather than intrigue. Not especially distinctive in conception despite its polished execution.
