The Quartile Take

365 Days is a Polish erotic thriller notorious for its romanticization of kidnapping and coercive relationships, drawing widespread criticism for its plot logic and toxic messaging. The story is paper-thin and deeply problematic in its framing, earning a well-below-average Plot score. Acting is serviceable but largely one-dimensional, with the leads better suited to modeling than dramatic performance. Cinematography is a relative highlight — the film is glossy and visually polished, with attractive locations in Sicily and Warsaw shot with commercial flair, elevating it above average in that category. Novelty is modest; while the explicit content and European production gave it a certain notoriety on Netflix, the rich-man-abducts-woman premise is a well-worn fantasy trope with little originality in execution. The ending is abrupt and unsatisfying, setting up a sequel without resolving emotional arcs in any meaningful way.
