A group of friends take refuge in a deserted sanatorium after they are left stranded in a snowstorm. Later, the place becomes a death trap when man-eating cannibals surround them.
Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings is a formulaic slasher prequel that does little to distinguish itself from its predecessors or the broader genre. The plot is a standard 'group trapped, picked off one by one' formula with a sanatorium setting that adds minimal atmosphere. The acting is notably weak even by genre standards, with cardboard characters making implausible decisions primarily to serve the kill count. Cinematography is serviceable but unremarkable, offering few memorable shots beyond the gore sequences. The prequel framing provides some novelty by showing the cannibals' origins, but it's executed without much creativity or insight. The ending is predictably bleak in the way common to the franchise, offering no real surprise or resonance.
