A group of teenagers fear for their lives in the swamps of Louisiana, chased by Mr. Jangles, a man possessed by 13 evil souls, and now relentless in his pursuit of new victims.
Venom (2005) is a fairly generic slasher set in Louisiana swamps with a voodoo twist that never fully capitalizes on its atmospheric setting. The plot is formulaic teen-slasher fare with little originality, and the acting is unremarkable. The swamp cinematography provides some atmospheric visual value but nothing exceptional. The voodoo-possessed killer concept had potential for distinctiveness but ends up feeling derivative of better genre entries. The ending resolves predictably without subverting expectations.
