Isabella runs her own salon and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, while Prince Thomas runs his own country and is about to marry for duty rather than love. When Izzy and her fellow stylists get the opportunity of a lifetime to do the hair for the royal wedding, she and Prince Thomas learn that taking control of their own destiny requires following their hearts.
The Royal Treatment is a paint-by-numbers romantic comedy that leans heavily on the familiar commoner-meets-royalty formula with little to distinguish it. The plot recycles well-worn Cinderella tropes without meaningful subversion, and the acting is serviceable but unremarkable from its leads. Cinematography is functional Netflix-rom-com standard — bright, clean, and forgettable. Novelty scores lowest as the film offers virtually nothing audiences haven't seen many times before in the genre. The ending at least delivers the feel-good resolution fans of the genre expect with adequate warmth, earning a slight bump above the other categories.
