Sam Witwicky leaves the Autobots behind for a normal life. But when his mind is filled with cryptic symbols, the Decepticons target him and he is dragged back into the Transformers' war.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is widely regarded as one of the weakest entries in the franchise. The plot is notoriously incoherent, bloated, and riddled with crude humor and racial stereotypes, earning it a genuinely poor score. Acting is serviceable at best — Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox deliver little beyond their established personas. Cinematography gets a slight bump as Michael Bay's kinetic visual style, while chaotic, is technically proficient with some large-scale action spectacle. Novelty is low — it retreads the first film's formula with more explosions and little creative distinction. The ending is a messy, overlong climax in Egypt that resolves nothing particularly satisfying.
