Quartile rating: 5/10 · 1 rating
Donna's senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, though a sadistic killer from her past has different plans for her and her friends.
A bland PG-13 slasher remake that strips away nearly everything that made the original memorable. The plot is formulaic and predictable, the killer's motivation is paper-thin, and the teen characters are genre stereotypes. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable. Cinematography is flat and generic, lacking any atmospheric tension. Novelty is very low — it's a by-the-numbers remake that adds nothing distinctive to the slasher genre, softened further by its sanitized rating. The ending resolves without surprise or resonance.
