The Quartile Take

Toy Story is a landmark in cinema history as the first fully computer-animated feature film, earning top Novelty marks for its genuinely singular technical and creative achievement. The voice performances from Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are exceptional, bringing real emotional depth to plastic toys. The plot is a solid but fairly straightforward buddy-rivalry-reconciliation arc that doesn't transcend its genre conventions. Cinematography is impressive for its era but constrained by the technology of the time. The ending is warm and satisfying but resolves a little too neatly without much surprise.
