High school senior Wendy's premonition of a deadly rollercoaster ride saves her life and a lucky few, but not from death itself — which seeks out those who escaped their fate.
Final Destination 3 follows the established franchise formula closely — premonition saves a group, death hunts them down in elaborate Rube Goldberg sequences. The roller coaster opening set piece is visually well-executed and the tanning bed scene is memorably gruesome, giving cinematography a slight edge. However, the plot is entirely recycled from the first two films with minimal innovation, the acting is serviceable teen-horror fare at best, the ending offers no real surprise for franchise veterans, and novelty is low given how derivative it is of its predecessors.
