An American man unwittingly gets involved with werewolves who have developed a serum allowing them to transform at will.
An American Werewolf in Paris is a largely forgettable follow-up to John Landis's classic, offering little that its predecessor didn't do better. The plot is generic and underdeveloped, the acting is wooden and unconvincing across the board, and the cinematography is serviceable but uninspired late-90s fare. The early CGI werewolf effects were already dated at release and drag down the visual experience significantly. Novelty is minimal — it recycles the fish-out-of-water American meets European werewolves concept without adding meaningful twists. The ending wraps up predictably with no emotional resonance. A mediocre genre effort that fails to capitalize on its source material's legacy.
