Two highly trained operatives grow close from a distance after being sent to guard opposite sides of a mysterious gorge. When an evil below emerges, they must work together to survive what lies within.
The Gorge blends sci-fi mystery with slow-burn romance in an intriguing premise — two snipers surveilling a forbidden gorge from opposite towers — that generates genuine tension and chemistry. The setup is distinctive enough to earn solid marks across the board, but the film stumbles in its third act when the mystery is partially resolved; the ending feels rushed and somewhat unsatisfying given the careful buildup. Acting is competent and the two leads have charm, but neither performance is truly exceptional. Cinematography captures the eerie fog-shrouded gorge atmosphere effectively without being visually groundbreaking. Novelty is decent — the isolation-romance-mystery hybrid has a singular flavor — but it doesn't fully transcend its genre influences.
