After the collapse of Earth's ecosystem, Vesper, a 13-year-old girl struggling to survive with her paralyzed Father, meets a mysterious Woman with a secret that forces Vesper to use her wits, strength and bio-hacking abilities to fight for the possibility of a future.
Vesper offers a visually distinctive and atmospheric post-apocalyptic world built on a surprisingly modest budget, with strong practical and production design work that gives it a genuinely singular aesthetic. The biopunk world-building is imaginative and the cinematography is consistently striking. However, the plot leans on familiar YA survival tropes and doesn't fully capitalize on its rich premise, leaving the narrative feeling underdeveloped. The acting is solid but uneven, with the lead delivering a credible performance while supporting characters feel thinly written. The ending is the film's weakest point — it arrives abruptly and fails to deliver satisfying resolution or thematic closure, feeling more like a setup for a sequel than a complete story.
