Beerfest is a raunchy Broken Lizard comedy with a goofy but functional premise — a secret underground beer Olympics — that gives it a mildly distinctive comedic hook. The plot is essentially a sports underdog formula reskinned with drinking games, functional but thin. Acting is broad and sketch-comedy level, consistent with the troupe's style but not especially memorable. Cinematography is workmanlike with no visual ambition. Novelty gets a slight bump for the specific absurdist concept and the group's recognizable comedic voice, even if it's not radically original. The ending follows genre convention satisfyingly enough but offers no surprises.
