Escaped convict Sam Gillen single-handedly takes on ruthless developers who are determined to evict a widow with two young children.
Nowhere to Run is a fairly formulaic early-90s action vehicle built around Van Damme's physicality. The plot is a well-worn lone-hero-defends-vulnerable-family setup with little originality, and the thriller elements are predictable. Van Damme delivers adequately in action sequences but the dramatic range is limited; supporting cast including Rosanna Arquette provides modest uplift. Cinematography is competent but unremarkable for the genre and era. The ending resolves predictably with little dramatic surprise. The film sits comfortably as a below-average genre entry with few distinguishing qualities beyond its star.
