A comedy that follows two high school students -- one overachiever struggling to write his valedictorian speech, the other a senior now going on his 15th year of school.
Mac & Devin Go to High School is a vehicle for Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa that leans heavily on stoner comedy tropes without much originality or narrative ambition. The plot is paper-thin and largely formulaic, following well-worn slacker/overachiever dynamics. Acting is functional at best — the leads have charisma but limited range. Cinematography is serviceable but unremarkable. Novelty is low; despite the musical talent involved, the film recycles familiar stoner-comedy beats without a distinctive voice. The ending resolves predictably. Enjoyable for fans of the artists but mediocre across the board.
