The Quartile Take

Passenger 57 is a lean, functional early-90s action thriller that rides entirely on Wesley Snipes' charisma and a handful of entertaining set pieces. The plot is strictly by-the-numbers Die Hard-on-a-plane fare with minimal character development and predictable beats. Acting is serviceable — Snipes brings energy but the supporting cast, including the villain, is unremarkable. Cinematography is workmanlike TV-movie level with nothing visually distinctive. Novelty is low — it's a formulaic high-concept action film that borrows heavily from the Die Hard template without adding anything fresh. The ending resolves tidily but without surprise or impact. A passable, forgettable genre entry remembered mainly for its catchphrase.
