Scientists create a genetic clone of a serial killer in order to help catch the killer, teaming up with two cops.

The Quartile Take

Replicant is a mid-tier Van Damme action-sci-fi vehicle with a mildly interesting premise — cloning a serial killer to catch the original — that borrows from better films. The plot is functional but underdeveloped, the acting is serviceable at best with Van Damme in a dual role, cinematography is workmanlike direct-to-video style, and the ending is unremarkable. The novelty gets a slight bump for the clone-as-investigative-tool concept, which is at least somewhat distinctive even if not fully realized.
