The Quartile Take

Torque is a knowingly campy, over-the-top motorcycle action film that leans into its own absurdity, but the plot is a generic revenge/frame-up formula with little originality. Acting is serviceable at best, with most performances being one-dimensional. Cinematography is slick and hyper-stylized in a mid-2000s MTV way — the action sequences are visually energetic even if the CGI is dated. Novelty is low; it's essentially a motorcycle-themed Fast & Furious clone with a self-aware tone that doesn't quite transcend its derivative origins. The ending is a ludicrous but forgettable climax that resolves predictably.
