Dragon Hunters is a fantastic tale telling the adventures of two dragon hunters: the world has become a vast conglomerate of islands of varying size and shape. This babbling universe is mainly peopled with ruthless rogues, surly peasants and illiterate, petty lords Their main concerns revolve around two fundamental rules : Eat and don't get eaten.
Dragon Hunters (2008) is a French animated film with genuinely stunning 3D animation and world-building — its floating archipelago setting is visually inventive and beautifully rendered, earning high marks for cinematography. The plot is a serviceable adventure with some charm but lacks depth and tight structure, landing it just above average. Voice acting (in its various dubbed versions) is serviceable but unremarkable, pulling it below average. The concept of a fragmented floating world is distinctive enough for a modest novelty bump, though the core story beats follow familiar hero-quest conventions. The ending feels rushed and emotionally undercooked, failing to pay off the journey satisfactorily.
