Frozen is a polished, entertaining Disney animated musical with strong songs and a notable twist on the 'true love's kiss' trope, but it largely follows conventional Disney princess storytelling. The plot is engaging but somewhat rushed in its second half, and the ending feels convenient rather than earned. Acting/voice work is solid, particularly Idina Menzel, but not exceptional across the board. Cinematography is competent Disney CG with attractive snow effects. Its novelty lies mainly in the sister-relationship focus and the subverted prince charming trope, which was genuinely refreshing at the time, though the broader structure remains formulaic.
