The Quartile Take

Gorgeous is a Jackie Chan romantic comedy with a light, breezy charm but a fairly thin and predictable plot. The love triangle premise is mildly inventive with the gay subplot adding a small twist, but the story meanders without strong stakes. Jackie Chan's charisma and physical comedy elevate the acting category, and the fight sequences — particularly those with Brad Allan — are visually crisp and well-choreographed, giving the cinematography a modest boost. The film's blend of sweet romance and martial arts spectacle gives it some distinctiveness, though it never fully commits to either genre with depth. The ending wraps up too neatly and without much emotional payoff, feeling perfunctory rather than earned.
