The Quartile Take

Dear Santa has a genuinely fun and distinctive premise — a dyslexic kid accidentally summoning Satan instead of Santa is a clever holiday comedy hook that gives it above-average novelty for its genre. The plot is functional and leans into its central gag with reasonable charm, though it doesn't fully develop beyond its logline. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with performances that feel TV-movie level rather than cinematically memorable. Cinematography is standard holiday fare with no visual ambition. The ending is predictable and wraps up too neatly, robbing the film of any lasting impact.
