AKA (2023) is a French action thriller that follows well-worn undercover-agent narrative territory. The emotional hook of the agent bonding with the child adds some warmth but doesn't elevate the formulaic infiltration plot. Acting is solid, particularly from the leads, and the cinematography is competent with some stylish action sequences typical of European crime thrillers. It offers little that distinguishes it from similar films in the genre, and the ending resolves predictably without much impact.
