The war against the Bugs continues! A Federation Starship crash-lands on the distant Alien planet OM-1, stranding beloved leader Sky Marshal Anoke and several others, including comely but tough pilot Lola Beck. It's up to Colonel/General Johnny Rico, reluctant hero of the original Bug Invasion on Planet P, to lead a team of Troopers on a daring rescue mission.
Starship Troopers 3: Marauder is a low-budget direct-to-video sequel that largely retreads familiar ground from the original without its satirical sharpness or visual flair. The plot is a perfunctory rescue mission with little dramatic tension or originality. Acting is serviceable at best, with Casper Van Dien returning but the ensemble offering little depth. Cinematography is TV-movie quality, lacking the kinetic energy of Verhoeven's original. Novelty is very low — this is a formulaic, by-the-numbers sequel that recycles concepts without adding meaningful new dimensions, and while it attempts to revive the propaganda satire angle, it does so clumsily. The ending introduces the titular Marauder suits far too late and without satisfying payoff.
