A fairy tale love-story about pre-med student Paige who falls in love with a Danish Prince "Eddie" who refused to follow the traditions of his parents and has come to the US to quench his thirst for rebellion. Paige and Edward come from two different worlds, but there is an undeniable attraction between them.
The Prince & Me is a serviceable but formulaic romcom that leans heavily on well-worn fish-out-of-water and secret-identity tropes. The plot follows predictable beats with little deviation from genre convention. Acting is competent and charming, particularly from the leads who bring some genuine warmth to their roles. Cinematography is functional but unremarkable, typical of mid-budget romantic comedies of the era. Novelty is low given how closely it hews to the Cinderella-in-reverse fairy tale template. The ending is reasonably satisfying for the genre, wrapping up the emotional arc in a way that feels earned within its modest ambitions.
