Two gangsters and the woman they love try to survive the most dangerous night of their lives. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s one wild ingredient added to the mix: a time machine.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice blends a love-triangle crime-comedy with time travel in a lively but uneven package. The plot concept is entertaining—gangsters navigating a chaotic night with a time machine is inherently fun—but execution reportedly feels messy and undercooked, relying on familiar buddy-comedy and mob-movie beats patched together with genre trappings. Acting lands below average, suggesting the ensemble doesn't fully sell the comedic or dramatic beats needed for the premise to pop. Cinematography is serviceable but unremarkable for the genre. Novelty gets a modest bump for the time-machine-meets-gangster-love-triangle mashup, though it doesn't transcend its influences enough to feel truly singular. The ending, while functional, doesn't deliver a particularly satisfying payoff relative to the promise of the setup, sitting just above average.
