Cinderella has faith her dreams of a better life will come true. With help from her loyal mice friends and a wave of her Fairy Godmother's wand, Cinderella's rags are magically turned into a glorious gown and off she goes to the Royal Ball. But when the clock strikes midnight, the spell is broken, leaving a single glass slipper... the only key to the ultimate fairy-tale ending!
Disney's Cinderella is a beautifully crafted adaptation of a well-known fairy tale, but its plot is inherently thin and well-worn — rags-to-riches with a passive heroine offers little dramatic complexity. The voice performances are warm and charming, particularly the character ensemble of mice and fairy godmother. Visually, the animation is lush and graceful for its era, with iconic sequences like the coach transformation showing Disney's artistry at its peak. Novelty is moderate — while the story itself is ancient, Disney's execution gave it a distinctive elegance and musicality that defined the fairy-tale genre for generations. The ending is a satisfying but entirely expected fairy-tale resolution.
