The Quartile Take

The Score is a solid, old-school heist thriller elevated significantly by its extraordinary cast — Brando, De Niro, and Norton together is a once-in-a-generation acting showcase, with Norton's dual-identity performance being particularly memorable. The plot hits familiar 'one last job' beats without much subversion, and the Quebec customs house setting gives it some texture but not enough to elevate it beyond genre convention. Cinematography is competent and atmospheric without being distinctive. The ending delivers a satisfying if unsurprising resolution. Novelty suffers from the well-worn premise, but the sheer caliber of performance lifts the film above its formulaic bones.
