Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating
On Quartile, Puppy Love scores 6.5/10 across five categories — strongest on Plot (Above Average), weakest on Cinematography (Below Average).
After a disastrous first date, wild-child Nicole and socially-anxious Max vow to lose each other’s numbers until they learn that their dogs found a love match, and now puppies are on the way! The hilariously mismatched Nicole and Max are forced to become responsible co-parents, but may end up finding love themselves.
Puppy Love is a charming but formulaic rom-com that leans heavily on familiar opposites-attract tropes. The dog co-parenting hook is mildly fresh but doesn't sustain real originality throughout. Acting from the leads provides enough warmth to elevate a predictable script, and the ending delivers the expected crowd-pleasing resolution without much surprise. Cinematography is serviceable and unremarkable for the genre.
