3 Men and a Little Lady (1990)

Quartile rating: 6/10 · 1 rating

Sylvia's work increasingly takes her away from the three men who help bring up Mary, her daughter. When she decides to move to England and take Mary with her, the three men are heartbroken at losing the two most important women in their lives.

The Quartile Take

A formulaic sequel that recycles the charm of the original without adding much new. The plot is predictable rom-com territory with the London relocation device feeling contrived. The ensemble cast (Selleck, Guttenberg, Danson) remain likable and carry the film's lighter moments adequately, but the script gives them little to work with. Cinematography is unremarkable, workmanlike at best. The ending is telegraphed well in advance, delivering exactly what audiences expect with no surprises. Overall a soft, inoffensive but undistinguished follow-up that trades on nostalgia.
