When a young African-American woman brings her fiancé home to meet her parents, she's neglected to mention one tiny detail – he's white.
Guess Who is a lightweight romantic comedy that reverses the premise of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner but doesn't do much new with it. The plot is formulaic and predictable, hitting standard rom-com beats without much surprise. Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac have decent chemistry and Mac in particular brings energy to his role, elevating the material somewhat. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable. The racial reversal conceit gives it a modest hook but the execution is fairly by-the-numbers, squandering the satirical potential of its premise. The ending resolves neatly but without much earned emotional weight.
