Troll 2 (2025) is a Norwegian sequel that largely retreads the formula of its predecessor — a new giant troll threat, the same core characters, and a familiar save-the-homeland structure. The plot offers little surprise beyond escalating the scale, and the ending feels somewhat predictable for the genre. Acting is serviceable and carries the emotional beats adequately, while cinematography benefits from Norway's dramatic landscapes and solid production values. Novelty is limited as it follows the well-worn kaiju-sequel template without significantly expanding the mythology or introducing a fresh creative vision.
