Snow Dogs is a formulaic fish-out-of-water family comedy that follows a predictable arc without much surprise. Cuba Gooding Jr. brings energy but the material doesn't give him much to work with, and the supporting cast is largely one-dimensional. The Alaskan scenery provides some visual appeal and the dog footage is charming, lifting cinematography slightly above average. The plot is derivative and the resolution is telegraphed well in advance. Overall a by-the-numbers family film that delivers modest entertainment without distinction.
