Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025)

Quartile rating: 7/10 · 1 rating

Returning to the house where his family was brutally murdered during the war, "the man who refuses to die" dismantles it, loads it on a truck, and is determined to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. When the commander who killed his family comes back hellbent on finishing the job, a relentless, eye-popping cross-country chase ensues.

The Quartile Take

Sisu: Road to Revenge is a straightforward sequel that recycles the core premise of the original — an unstoppable Finnish warrior dispatching enemies with brutal efficiency — without meaningfully expanding or reinventing it. The plot is paper-thin, essentially a prolonged chase scenario with minimal character development. Acting remains functional rather than distinguished, with the largely silent protagonist offering little beyond physical endurance. Cinematography captures the harsh northern landscape competently, providing some visceral visual flair in the action set-pieces. Novelty suffers as a by-the-numbers sequel rehashing the mythic-indestructible-man formula. The ending resolves the chase adequately but without particular surprise or resonance.
