Charles Dreyfus, who has finally cracked over inspector Clouseau's antics, escapes from a mental institution and launches an elaborate plan to get rid of Clouseau once and for all.
The Pink Panther Strikes Again is a reliable entry in the series, leaning heavily on Sellers' comic genius as Clouseau to carry broadly enjoyable slapstick set pieces. The plot escalates Dreyfus's villainy to absurd global-threat territory, which is fun but structurally thin. Sellers is genuinely brilliant in the role, but the surrounding cast is serviceable rather than memorable. Cinematography is workmanlike — functional comedy staging without visual distinction. As a sequel it recycles familiar gags and the Clouseau formula, keeping Novelty low. The ending delivers satisfactory comic resolution without transcending the series' established conventions.
