When her son vanishes inside a US consulate, ex-special forces soldier Sara does everything in her power to find him — and uncovers a dark conspiracy.
Exterritorial follows a well-worn template of a parent-on-a-mission thriller with conspiracy overtones, reminiscent of numerous similar films. The Frankfurt consulate setting provides modest local flavor but the plot mechanics—missing child, shadowy government cover-up, lone wolf ex-soldier protagonist—are thoroughly familiar. Acting appears competent for the genre without being particularly distinctive. The cinematography is serviceable action-thriller fare. The ending, typical of mid-tier streaming thrillers, likely resolves without much surprise. The film earns its modest TMDB score as a watchable but largely by-the-numbers genre exercise with little that distinguishes it from its peers.
