Depicts a continuation of the "Battle of Mayang", an all-out war against the neighboring country Zhao that Shin and Wang Ki fought in in the previous work "Flame of Fate".
Kingdom: Return of the Great General continues the franchise's reliable formula of large-scale warring states battles and character-driven camaraderie drawn from the popular manga. The battle choreography and scope are competently executed with solid cinematography for the genre, and the acting maintains the series' dramatic intensity. However, as a sequel continuing an established arc, it offers little that distinguishes it from its predecessors in terms of narrative innovation or visual distinctiveness, keeping Novelty low. The plot serves fans well but remains formulaic for the epic battle genre, and the ending functions more as a chapter close than a truly satisfying resolution, consistent with its serialized nature.
