After breaking up with his longtime stage partner, a famous but jaded Vegas magician fights for relevance when a new, "hip" street magician appears on the scene.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is a fairly generic comedy built around a predictable redemption arc. The premise of a washed-up Vegas magician vs. a trendy street performer has some charm, and the cast (Carell, Buscemi, Carrey) elevates material that would otherwise fall flat. Carrey's edgy street magician parody is a highlight but isn't enough to lift the formulaic script. Cinematography is serviceable and unremarkable for the genre. The ending follows the expected beats without surprise. Overall a mildly entertaining but forgettable comedy that doesn't fully capitalize on its comedic potential.
