Now that Frollo is gone, Quasimodo rings the bell with the help of his new friend and Esmeralda's and Phoebus' little son, Zephyr. But when Quasi stops by a traveling circus owned by evil magician Sarousch, he falls for Madellaine, Sarouch's assistant.
A direct-to-video cash-grab sequel that recycles the original's themes with a far weaker story, villain, and emotional stakes. Sarousch is a pale imitation of Frollo, the romance between Quasi and Madellaine feels rushed and unearned, and the plot is formulaic even by sequel standards. The animation is noticeably cheaper, lacking the grandeur and gothic atmosphere of the original. The ending wraps things up with no real weight. Almost nothing here distinguishes it as its own creative work.
