Originally a home video never intended for public viewing, this film captures the final chapter in Roger Federer's legendary tennis career, featuring Roger, his family, and his three main rivals: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray.
A remarkably intimate documentary that benefits enormously from its origin as private home footage, giving it an authenticity rare in sports docs. The final chapter framing — culminating in Federer's doubles match alongside Nadal at the Laver Cup — provides genuine emotional weight and a natural, powerful ending. The presence of all three great rivals adds depth beyond a standard retrospective. However, as a sports documentary it follows broadly familiar structures, and the cinematography, while warm and personal, is not exceptional. Acting is not applicable in the traditional sense, scored on interview presence and naturalism. Novelty is solid for its unusual origin story and access, but sports documentary conventions keep it from being truly groundbreaking.
