When he and his pregnant wife are attacked in their home, a former elite agent becomes trapped in a deadly manhunt tied to his own painful past.
Ad Vitam follows a fairly well-trodden thriller template — the ex-operative with a painful past drawn back into violence to protect his family. The premise offers little that distinguishes it from numerous similar entries in the genre. The plot mechanics are competent but predictable, hitting expected beats without meaningful subversion. Acting and cinematography are professional and serviceable without being particularly memorable. The ending reportedly resolves in an ambivalent but underwhelming fashion that doesn't elevate the material. Novelty suffers most as the film leans heavily on genre conventions without a distinctive voice or approach to set it apart.
