Dory is reunited with her friends Nemo and Marlin in the search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
Finding Dory is a visually stunning Pixar sequel with lush underwater cinematography and inventive set pieces at the Marine Life Institute. Dory's amnesia-driven quest for her parents provides genuine emotional warmth, though the plot recycles the 'separated family reunion' framework from Finding Nemo without meaningfully expanding it — earning a below-average Novelty score for a derivative premise. The voice performances are charming and committed (Hank the octopus is a highlight), but the acting doesn't transcend standard animated fare. The ending resolves satisfyingly if predictably, landing solidly but not memorably above the franchise baseline.
