A woman answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise, unaware that she is entering a community that has seen a number of disappearances over the years and may be under the grip of a Satanic cult.
They Will Kill You blends action-horror-comedy in a New York high-rise cult setting that has some genre energy, but the premise — outsider enters sinister building, discovers Satanic cult, fights for survival — is well-trodden territory drawing on Rosemary's Baby and countless survival horror films. The plot moves competently with decent pacing and some entertaining set pieces, but lacks genuine surprise in its story beats. Acting appears serviceable for the genre without standout performances. Cinematography makes reasonable use of the high-rise setting but doesn't push into visually distinctive territory. The ending follows genre convention without a particularly memorable or subversive payoff, landing as functional rather than satisfying.
