Zombie Strippers! (2008)

Quartile rating: 5/10 · 1 rating

In the not too distant future a secret government re-animation chemo-virus gets released into conservative Sartre, Nebraska and lands in an underground strip club. As the virus begins to spread, turning the strippers into "Super Zombie Strippers" the girls struggle with whether or not to conform to the new "fad" even if it means there's no turning back.

The Quartile Take

Zombie Strippers! is a knowingly trashy grindhouse pastiche that earns mild novelty points for its absurdist Sartre-referencing premise and commitment to campy exploitation excess. The plot is threadbare and purely functional, serving as a vehicle for its central gimmick rather than developing any meaningful narrative. Acting is largely amateur-level outside of Robert Englund chewing scenery, with most performances feeling flat even by B-movie standards. Cinematography is workmanlike low-budget fare with little visual ambition beyond serviceable lighting of the club setting. The ending resolves predictably with little payoff, squandering whatever satirical momentum the concept briefly generates.
