Dignity. Poise. Mystery. We expect nothing less from the great turn-of-the-century magician, Presto. But when Presto neglects to feed his rabbit one too many times, the magician finds he isn't the only one with a few tricks up his sleeve!
Presto is a sharp, gag-driven Pixar short that delivers classic cartoon slapstick with polished precision. The plot is simple but effective — a revenge-fueled escalation between magician and rabbit — executed with tight comic timing. There's no traditional acting (it's a silent short), so that category reflects the broad but well-crafted character expression. Cinematography is competent Pixar polish without being especially daring for the studio. Novelty scores modestly above average as a loving homage to classic Warner Bros.-style physical comedy rendered in 3D CG with real wit, though it doesn't break genuinely new ground. The ending wraps the comedic arc satisfyingly with a role-reversal payoff that fits the tone perfectly.
