A midquel to the beloved original, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas is a fairly formulaic direct-to-video addition that introduces a Christmas-themed conflict with minimal dramatic stakes. The plot is thin and repetitive of themes already explored in the original. The animation quality noticeably drops from the theatrical film, with awkward early CGI mixed into traditional animation. The voice cast returns and performs adequately, though Tim Curry as the villainous Forte is a highlight. The premise of a Christmas-hating Beast is a serviceable hook but the story resolves predictably and safely, offering little that feels genuinely new or distinctive beyond the holiday setting.
